Dieter Krusic-Golub
Founder, Place AU
Dieter Krusic-Golub founded Place AU after spending two decades watching the same problem repeat across every organisation he worked in. More data, better tools and still no clear answers. Planning teams overwhelmed by dashboards. Developers chasing permit signals across fragmented council systems. Investors trying to interpret population trends from disconnected spreadsheets. The data was never the issue. What was missing was translation.
His career has been built at the intersection of data, commercial strategy and client advisory, with roles across Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis, S&P Global, KPMG, Esri Australia and .id (Informed Decisions). Each added a different layer of capability, from legal and financial intelligence to geospatial analysis, demographic forecasting and local government insight. Place AU brings that experience together. It is not a generic data platform applied to planning. It has been shaped by years spent working directly inside the problem.
Place AU converts open government data into structured, decision ready intelligence for councils, developers and organisations assessing Australian markets. It draws on sources such as the ABS Census, DataVic and other licensed datasets, and delivers outputs as complete, defensible reports rather than raw data or dashboards. The gap it fills is not access. Most of the data is already public. The gap is interpretation. Understanding what the numbers actually mean for a site, a council or an investment decision. That is what Place AU provides.
